Track Collector
Pan Systems

Fiberglass reinforced plastic pan systems that collect and isolate spills at loading, unloading, washing, and fueling tracks — protecting the environment, the cross ties, and your equipment.

PROTECTION AGAINST SPILLS

Even careful crews can’t stop every spill.

Wherever rail cars and locomotives are loaded, unloaded, washed, or fueled, some spillage is unavoidable — and spilled oil, fuel, and chemicals damage the environment along with the cross ties and equipment.

SynTechnics FRP Track Collector Pan Systems collect and isolate those spills for treatment and disposal. Installed to connect with permanent waste-treatment systems, they limit environmental problems from uncollected spillage and reduce downtime for equipment repair.

How it works: collector pans and crossdrains connect to pre-installed underground pipes or trenches. Spilled substances flow to a sump pump or collection tank for treatment or disposal.

WHY FRP

Advantages over the alternatives.

  • 01

    Modular by design

Easily installed modular sections combine to provide any length and a variety of widths to meet your requirements.

  • 02

    Fits your rail

Pans fit most rail sizes, including the 90‑pound rail often used at loading and unloading sites.

  • 03

    Curves & switches

Manufactured to fit curved tracks up to 21° of curvature and the areas around switches.

  • 04

    Anti‑skid or smooth

A permanent anti‑skid walking texture, or a smooth surface for maximum corrosion resistance.

  • 05

    Lowest installed cost

The greatest advantage of all — a reasonable total installed cost, start to finish.

TWO PROVEN CONFIGURATIONS

Flat or sloped — built for your track.

TYPE II & III

Flat Pan System

Continuous collector pans snap into place and “float” between the rails — no fasteners or fixed connectors, so the system isn’t affected by track shift or road‑bed movement.

  • Virtually any length
  • Crossdrains on 20’ or 40’ spacing
  • Widths of 10’, 12’, 14’ & 16’
  • Optional grating walking surface

TYPE IV & V

Sloped Pan System

A 1″‑per‑10’ slope is built into the pan to aid drainage. Identical to the flat system in laminate and concept, with a center collector pan and paired side pans emptying into perpendicular crossdrains.

  • Any length from mated pans
  • 20’‑nominal male & female pans
  • Widths of 10’, 12’, 14’ & 16’
  • Grade supports included

ENGINEERED IN FIBERGLASS

Tough where it counts. Easy where it matters.

Corrosion Resistance

Specially selected resins resist corrosion in customer‑specified chemical environments — standing up to substances that would destroy steel or concrete systems.

Fiberglass Construction

A monolithic laminate: resin‑rich top and bottom surfaces for the toughest chemical protection, chopped‑strand mats for added resistance, and an inner layer of woven roving for strength and stability.

Easy Install, Minimal Upkeep

Lightweight fiberglass lets a small crew install without heavy equipment. Durability holds between −50°F and +130°F, repairs take simple hand tools, and replacements reorder on short lead times.
